Labor Campaign For Single Payer
Fighting for Health Care for All in the Age of Trump

Register for the 2017 National Single Payer Strategy Conference! Join hundreds of union activists and leaders.

Registration is now open for the National Single Payer Strategy Conference in New York City, January 13 through 15, 2017.

This year’s conference will be jointly sponsored by the LaborCampaign for Single Payer, Healthcare NOW and One Payer States with a fully integrated joint agenda and workshops. The registration page is administered by Healthcare NOW.

As the Affordable Care Act heads towards a crisis of sustainability and workers everywhere fight to maintain decent healthcare benefits, there couldn’t be a better time to discuss the next steps in the fight to win single-payer Medicare for All.

Meeting just one week before Inauguration Day, we will discuss the prospects for healthcare justice under a new presidential administration and a new Congress. This year’s election debates have raised the visibility and public support for a single-payer solution and it is important that we work together to build on this momentum. In addition, we will have the opportunity to sum up the outcome of the Colorado Care initiative and other state campaigns.

Our New York location will allow us to meet with many of the unions and organizers involved with the exciting New York Health Act as well as Assemblyman Gottfried and other political leaders who led its passage in the state legislature in 2016.

The conference will convene at 7 pm on Friday, January 13 at the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel Grand Ballroom with a reception and an opening plenary. On January 14 and 15, we will meet at AFSCME District Council 37.  The conference will adjourn no later than 12 noon on Sunday, January 15.
